Can anyone here explain why people think Nas is so good?

Is it the nonsensical metaphors? Is it the psuedo-intellect? Is it the boring beats? Is it the inconsistency? Is it the discography that's nothing special? I'm lost as far as why he's a good rapper, or the "GOAT" like his lil kum-guzzlers here say.
