Travel from kl to bangkok?

Hi...I want to travel from KL to Bangkok within 10 days. I want to get there directly as soon as possible. I am basically going for shopping purpose and will stay for a day or two. Also, suggest an inexpensive method and no flights please. Also, is it better to get there by train or bus ? And what are the respective times taken ?
